"The Future of Evil"

Films: Godzilla Vs. King Ghidorah (1991)

Alias: King Ghidrah, Dorats, Mecha-King Ghidorah

Type: Mutant/Man-Made

Location: Forest/Civilized Area/Ocean

Height/Weight: 150 meters and 70,000 metric tons.

Affiliation: Neutral (Dorats), Evil, Good (Mecha-King Ghidorah)

Summary: For Godzilla, the Heisei era had just begun, and you know, sometimes you just want to start out slow...How about we throw in one of the monster king's most vicious opponents as the first other kaiju to make a comeback! And give him a new bonkers backstory as well!

History: Time-travelling white dudes made King Ghidorah. From adorable little monsters. That's all you need to know. Okay, for what it's worth, the Futurians (yes, that's what we'll call them) wanted to prevent Japan from becoming a corrupt capitalist Hellhole. Rather than negotiate this to the people, they decided to destroy it in a big way. By seemingly getting rid of Godzilla from the timeline, they instead had three creatures called Dorats mutated by the bomb that gave Godzilla his power. The Dorats got hit, and merged into the Futurian-controlled King Ghidorah, who leveled the city in no time. But the thing is, they didn't actually erase Godzilla at all...

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: Ghidorah ends up losing his middle head, getting his wings blasted off, and ultimately killed by Godzilla. However, when the kaiju king becomes too much, the Futurians in the...future...use Ghidorah's corpse to make Mecha-King Ghidorah in order to stop Godzilla. Although both end up sinking into the sea, Godzilla is subdued. However, the remains of the mechanized tyrant wouldn't go to waste...

Powers/Abilities: King Ghidorah shoots electrical gravity beams from his mouths. Mecha-King Ghidorah has that (only the middle head fires a purple/white version), as well as cables and a large machine hand for nabbing kaiju.

Weakness: Beings of equal or greater power.

Scariness Factor: 4.5-It's King Ghidorah, of course it's going to be one of the least approachable kaiju! It doesn't help that it started so cute before becoming...well, him! As for Mecha-King Ghidorah, while he's ostensibly fighting on our side, who's to say he wouldn't undergo the Kiryu Effect without Godzilla? For those who don't know what that is, you will in 2002.

Trivia: -In order to not make international censorship laws foam at the mouth, the scene where King Ghidorah gets decapitated by Godzilla has him bleed mostly golden dust. Which really makes us question how he functions.

-Originally, King Ghidorah was going to fire gravity beams of differing colors. This was scrapped, but it can be seen on the main poster and a special edition variant of his S.H. Monsterarts figure.

The Three-Headed tyrant does not like to share the spotlight.

Awwww...just you wait.

"Thanks for putting your heads in range!"
He was never one for hugs.

One mutation and he thinks he owns the world!
Despair has truy come to Japan.

Nice chrome job. Why not go all the way with the other heads?
